I want to start with the good thing about this store, it was well-kept and clean, has a decent selection of hardware.. it's a hardware store wouldn't expect anything less.
Now for what was not so good about this store. I am new to the area, bought my first house that is older so repairs come up now and then. I went to ACE for the first time and was greeted nicely. I was in search of a dual head spicket for an outdoor faucet. An older gentleman asked if I needed help finding something so I asked where outdoor facet attachments were. He (I failed to catch his name) led me to where they were and started asking me what I needed it for and what I was doing.... umm is that a rhetorical question? I didn't say that though, and proceeded to explain o was simply replacing the one I had that was corroded beyond repair. He then told me that I didn't need it if I already took the old one off, I tried to explain yet again and then he continued to explain why I didn't need it. Basically he talked me out of a purchase that I immediately went to another store for after I eventually checked out. I eventually settled with this guy for sake of my sanity and made it to the register where he ended up checking me out ugh. He then started asking me questions as to what I was buying a box of nails for... umm gee Idk to hang pictures, etc. I didn't say that either.. I sort of tried to ignore him at this point, but he didn't stop there. This guy then asked me why I was buying a vice grip, I explained why yet again.. he proceeded to tell me why I didn't need that and what I should get instead. I could believe this guy. He already completely talked me out of one purchase and almost a second one. I finally told him thank you but I know what I'm doing and left. I was about to just leave everything at the counter and just leave. So I went Runnings in Monticello and got everything I was going to buy at ACE without any questions asked. My total purchase at Running's came to $54 which is what ACE hardware lost that day because of this employees poor salesmanship. I will not go back to ACE again.

I like going here more than Home Depot.
